Shades & motors

Do motorized shades need wiring?

Most installs use rechargeable lithium motors — no wiring at all, with one or two charges a year. Hardwired and solar options are available for new builds and hard-to-reach windows.

Will they work with my existing windows?

Yes. Every system is measured and made for your exact openings — inside or outside mount, standard or unusually shaped windows included.

Which smart-home platforms are supported?

Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings and anything Matter-compatible. A wall remote is included, so guests never need an app.

How loud are the motors?

Quieter than a whisper. You'll hear the room, not the blinds.

How long do the batteries last between charges?

Six to twelve months in typical daily use. Charging takes about two hours with the included cable, and the shade keeps working while it charges.

What's the difference between blackout, dimout and light-filtering fabrics?

Blackout blocks light completely — right for bedrooms and media rooms. Dimout softens a room without full darkness. Light-filtering weaves (3–10% openness) hold your view and daylight while cutting glare and UV. Most homes mix all three, room by room.

Are motorized shades safe for children and pets?

Yes — there are no cords at all, which removes the strangulation hazard entirely. Cordless window coverings are the standard pediatric-safety recommendation.

Can shades run on a schedule when we're away?

Yes. Schedules run on the motor itself, so shades rise and lower on their normal rhythm even with Wi-Fi down — from the street, the house simply looks lived-in.

Consultation & pricing

What does a project cost?

It depends on window count, size and fabric. After a free in-home consultation you'll receive a fixed, itemized quote — no estimates that drift.

Can I see fabrics before deciding?

Yes — your consultant brings the complete fabric library to the free measure visit, so you judge every weave in your own light. You can also preview all 389 fabrics on a real room in our visualizer.

What happens after I approve my quote?

You sign electronically and place a deposit, and manufacturing begins immediately. Your shades are built for your windows in 2–4 weeks, we schedule installation at your convenience, and most homes are finished in 2–4 hours — ending with a full walkthrough of the app, remotes and schedules.

What happens at the free consultation?

About an hour: we laser-measure each window, walk fabrics and opacities room by room, and leave you a fixed written quote. No deposit, no pressure, no follow-up calls unless you ask.

Do you charge for the in-home consultation or measuring?

No. The visit, the laser measure and the written quote are free, and the quote carries no obligation.

Installation & aftercare

How long does installation take?

Most homes are completed in a single visit of two to four hours, including smart-home pairing and your first scenes.

How far in advance should I order?

Shades are made for your windows in 2–4 weeks from approval, and installation is usually scheduled within a week of arrival. For a firm date — before holidays or a move-in — allow about six weeks.

Do I need to do anything before installation day?

Just clear a small working area at each window and let us know your Wi-Fi details if you'd like app and voice control set up. We bring everything else, and we leave each room as we found it.

How do I clean the fabric?

A light pass with a vacuum brush or a barely damp cloth is all they need. The coated weaves shrug off dust; we'll note any fabric-specific care on your order sheet.

Warranty & support

What does the warranty cover?

Motors carry a 5-year warranty, fabric and hardware are covered against defects, and our installation workmanship is guaranteed. If something isn't right, one call and we make it right.

What if a shade stops responding?

Nine times out of ten it's a battery due for a charge — two hours on the included cable and it's back. Anything beyond that, call (385) 217-0987 and we'll talk it through or come out.
